Professor Brenda Wilson RN, Dip App Sc, B Bus (Health), GAICD, MBA, FCHSE, FRCNA

Brenda has worked in the health industry since 1971, predominately in large teaching hospitals in SA, and also overseas.

She trained as a nurse at Royal Adelaide Hospital and has worked in a range of clinical, management and executive positions, including that of Executive Director, Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Services at Flinders Medical Centre (1995 – 2002), Executive Director of Nursing, Lyell McEwin Health Service (1994), Chief Executive Officer and Director of Nursing, Hampstead Rehabilitation Hospital (1989 – 1993).

Brenda has a Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing), Bachelor of Business (Health) and an MBA. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Fellow of the College of Health Service Executives (FCHSE), a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing Australia (FRCNA) and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM). She was the recipient of the 2000 Telstra Business Women's Award, Corporate and Government Sector. She was a member of the Board of Burnside Hospital, Adelaide from 2004 to 2011.

She was appointed to the position of Chief Executive of Cancer Council SA in February 2003.
