Mr Yates is Deputy Chancellor of the Flinders University of South Australia, Chairman of the University's Resources Committee, member of the Council's Audit Committee and Executive member of the University Alumni Association. He is a member of the SA Council of Social Service Policy Council. He is a member of the SA Government’s Health Performance Council and also serves on a number of Federal and State Government advisory committees.
