Relay for Life Adelaide Hills Committee

Are you great with people? Can you inspire and encourage others to achieve greatness? Are you super organised and willing to make a real difference in the lives of others?

If that’s a yes, we’re offering amazing volunteer roles which will allow you to develop the award winning Relay For Life community event in the Adelaide Hills area.

Relay For Life is the world’s most successful fundraising event that engages the community to Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back against cancer.

There are a variety of committee roles available including Chair, Secretary and Compliance, Team development, Survivor, Volunteer and logistics.

Community Publications Officer

As the state’s leading cancer charity, funding and delivering research, prevention and support programs, we have an enviable reputation as one of SA’s most trusted charities for over 80 years.


Staff within Cancer Support Programs work together to enhance the quality of life for
people impacted by a cancer diagnosis. The major role of Cancer Support Programs is to provide information and services that can assist anyone dealing with the physical, practical, psychological and emotional challenges that may arise throughout a cancer experience.  The Cancer Council Helpline provides evidence based information, support and referral for the community, health professionals and all people affected by cancer.

We are looking for a volunteer to assist in delivering printed resources to cancer treatment centres and hospitals on a weekly basis - Tuesdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm.   The successful applicant will be comfortable with visiting hospitals and will meet the criteria in the roles and responsibilities listed in the Position Description.

Community Support Representative

Time required: On Call – maximum time required equal to one day per week

As the state’s leading cancer charity, funding and delivering research, prevention and support programs, we have an enviable reputation as one of SA’s most trusted charities for over 80 years.

We are looking for a compassionate person to help us with our In Memory program.

We would like the person to:
• represent Cancer Council SA at funeral services
• collect donations from funeral homes
• have excellent interpersonal communications skills
• hold a current South Australian driving licence.

We currently have two other volunteers attending funerals and collecting donations but require a third to support them on an on-call basis.


 

On call for events

Volunteers are required to assist with fundraising events.

The assistance required depends on the event, and can include volunteering at a site, coordinating a site, assisting with setup, selling merchandise, driving.

Times vary with some out of hours work available.
