Our services
Cancer Council South Australia (the business name of the Anti-Cancer Foundation of South Australia) is a non-government organisation which began in 1928 with a bequest dedicated to increasing scientific understanding and public knowledge of cancer. As South Australia’s leading cancer control organisation, the current goal of Cancer Council is to reduce the impact of cancer through a range of interventions aimed at increased education and awareness, cancer prevention and early detection, increased support for people affected by cancer and advocating in a range of areas. As a community based organisation, Cancer Council depends on the generosity of South Australians. This support comes through major fundraising events, community fundraising initiatives, general donations and bequests. Volunteers play a major role in our work, with over 3000 people involved in our programs of support services, fundraising and administration. Cancer Council South Australia is a member of The Cancer Council Australia and is affiliated with the International Union Against Cancer (UICC).
